: Milestone of Bilingualism :
It can separate into 6 stages
“Make sounds to acknowledge their basic needs to survive”
“Make sounds with rhythms and punctuations but still unidentifiable”
“Make a few sounds that are more understandable and almost similar to a word”
“Blend in words from different languages such as Thankci, understand what those words mean”
Children will combine two words such as "daddy bye-bye" by the second birthday. They can use many different consonant sounds at the beginning of words including p, b, m, n, h, and w.
“Words combination into one sentence such as ฉันไป eat ที่ restaurant”
Children use short sentences like "me want more" or "me want cookie" for asking and answering the simple questions. Also, they will talk about activities at daycare, preschool, or friends' homes. Speaks easily without having to repeat syllables or words
“Able to identify differentiate of languages and when to use”
Uses sentences that give many details
Uses past tense correctly"
This is the way of how children learning the language and the first step to becoming bilingual person. To be the bilingual person is not only depends on the milestone but family, social and education are the main factor to develop bilingualism in person.
